If you’re like me, you have memories of favorite teachers from grade school or high school, and certainly from college. You may get to see those teachers now and then if you turn up for a reunion, or exchange emails from time to time. It’s rare that you get to do something as delightful as give a presentation with one of your favorite teachers, yet that’s exactly what I get to do tomorrow night.
Tomorrow, Saturday, November 2, I have the distinct pleasure to give a reading with my graduate school mentor, Carolyne Wright, who served as the advisor for the thesis manuscript that would eventually become Burn This House.
In an event sponsored by Old Growth Northwest, 4Culture, and Poets & Writers, Vermillion Art Gallery and Bar in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle will host Carolyne and me in our first public reading together. Carolyne will read from several of her nine books (an possibly a little new work, too!) and I’ll be reading from Burn This House and from my upcoming book, Jacob Wrestling.
See you at Vermillion (1508 11th Ave Seattle, WA 98122) at 6pm!
